Shall We Dance: At the start of July Cabaret Littleover performed their first show at the Guildhall Theatre, Derby. Around 100 children took part in routines featuring tap, ballet, modern and singing. For many of the pupils it was their first experience of dancing on a professional stage but everyone performed with confidence and enthusiasm. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and look forward to the next one in 2006! Click here for more pictures
Let's Sing!: On Friday 7 and Saturday 8 May we held our first ever singing show in the Bistro Bar at the Brewhouse. 42 children performed a wide range of songs, from Country 'n' Western, to Rock 'n' Roll, to Abba. We had two really nice evenings - it was good for the children to do a different kind of show, they had fun performing in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. And parents enjoyed watching the show with a drink in their hands!
Littleover Galas: We danced at two Galas this summer: one at Littleover Community School and the other at the Grange Hall. Despite the wet weather both galas were good fun. The girls performed three routines and got a great response from the audience each time.
Stretton Gala: This was our fifth year of dancing at the William Shrewsbury School gala. Rain threatened to spoil the day, but we got lucky and still managed to perform outside! We've been invited to perform again next year...
Littleover Exams: We took 70 exams this spring at the Littleover School and passed them all. Certificates, medals and trophies were presented at the Grange Hall in May. Well done everyone for such good results.
Stretton Exams: We had two exam sessions this year and maintained our 100% pass rate. Our presentation day included several dance displays which showed parents how hard the children have been working this term.
Unite Dance Festival: Burton College organised this dance show at the Brewhouse in March. Our Song & Dance class performed 'Oklahoma'. Many other local dance groups took part in the festival.
Stars In Their Eyes: Three of our senior students got through 2 auditions for the TV show 'Stars In Their Eyes'. They performed as award winning country girl group the Dixie Chicks. Although they didn't get through to the final show they had a great time auditioning at Granada Studios in Manchester.
